KARISHMA PRAKASH’S ANTICIPATORY BAIL PLEA REJECTED | 6 August, 2021

A special NDPS court on August 5 rejected the anticipatory bail application of Karishma Prakash, erstwhile manager of Deepika Padukone, in a drugs case related to the demise of Sushant Singh Rajput. She had sought bail on October 31 last year. After the order was pronounced, the court granted a stay on the order until August 25. Karishma’s lawyer submitted that interim protection had already been granted to her by the court during the pendency of the application, and the same needed to be continued to enable her to approach the Bombay high court against the order.

Special judge V.V. Vidwans said that in the meantime, Prakash was directed to attend the office of the Narcotics Control Bureau once a week for the purpose of investigations. He also said, she would have to provide her mobile phone number and address to the NCB if there was any change.

It may be recalled that the NCB had booked Karishma Prakash after it allegedly found 1.7 gm. of hashish at her residence at Versova in Bombay. NCB officials also allegedly seized three vials of CBD oil which has traces of cannabis. Karishma denied consuming drugs.
