Cinemas in Maharashtra will finally reopen on 22nd October. Maharashtra chief minsiter Uddhav Thackeray assured an industry delegation which met him today (25th September) that cinemas would be allowed to reopen on 22nd next month. The meeting was attended by Kamal Gianchandani (president of Multiplex Association of India, and CEO, PVR Pictures), Alok Tandon (CEO, Inox Leisure Ltd.), Devang Sampat (CEO, Cinepolis India), Kunal Sawhney (COO, Carnival Cinemas), Jayantilal Gada (PEN Studios), Rohit Shetty and Sanjay Chhatar (director, PEN Marudhar).
During the hour-long discussions, Thackeray told the delegation that cinemas in the state would be permitted to resume operations from 22nd October. He also said, the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), to be followed by the cinemas, would be shared soon. The CMO Maharashtra tweeted soon after the industry meeting with the CM that cinemas would be permitted to reopen from 22nd October.
