The Bombay high court on December 7 granted actor and fitness expert Sahil Khan pre-arrest bail in the suicide bid case of former Mr. India contest winner Manoj Patil. Justice Nitin Sambre granted Khan bail on furnishing of Rs. 25,000 PR bond and surety of like amount. Sahil was also asked to refrain from making any statements about Patil on social media or other platforms.
Manoj Patil had on September 16 filed a complaint at the Oshiwara (Bombay) police station alleging that Sahil Khan had defamed him on social media and so he had tried to end his life. The high court had earlier granted Khan interim protection till further hearing. Sahil’s lawyer contended that the offence of abetment of suicide could not be applied as the complainant was still alive.
