A Bombay court on September 7 granted failed actor-producer Kamaal R. Khan bail in the 2020 case of controversial tweets against Akshay Kumar and filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma. Earlier, on September 6, another court had granted him bail in a molestation case of 2021.
KRK, currently in judicial custody, is likely to be free today (September 8). He was arrested by the Bombay police from Bombay airport on August 30 in connection with his allegedly communal tweets targeting Bollywood personalities in 2020. An FIR against him was registered in 2020 under various sections of the IPC, including 153 (wantonly giving provocation with intent to cause riot) and 500 (punishment for defamation), and provisions of the Information Technology Act.
