The Punjab and Haryana high court has turned down a plea by the CBI seeking cancellation of the bail of Dera Sacha Sauda chief and writer-producer-director-actor Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh in a case related to alleged castration of Dera followers by him. Dismissing the plea, Justice Anoop Chitkara said that there were no allegations of the Dera chief influencing the witnesses even when he was released on parole/furlough in connection with other cases.
The CBI had on February 1, 2018 charged Ram Rahim Singh and two doctors in connection with the castration of followers inside the Dera.
