The meeting was a precursor to the Uttar Pradesh Investors’ Summit 2023 which the state government will hold from February 10 to 12, 2023 in Lucknow.
The U.P. government is keen to develop a robust film policy in the state, which includes setting up training institutes, film cities, multiplexes, animation studios, etc. Adityanath emphasised that films, TV serials or web series shot in the state would be entitled to 50% subsidy while the cost of setting up film studios and film laboratories in Uttar Pradesh would be subsidised by 25%.
Sunil Shetty was the most vocal at the meeting. His complaint to the chief minister about the government’s inaction against outfits demanding a ban on every other Hindi film at the slightest provocation, won him a lot of praise.
