Rakhi Sawant was detained by the Bombay police today (January 19) following a complaint filed by Sherlyn Chopra. The complaint against Rakhi accused her of making Sherlyn’s inappropriate videos and photographs go viral.
The police registered an FIR against Rakhi Sawant. They brought her to Amboli police station for questioning. She was presented in the Andheri (Bombay) court later in the day.
Rakhi was booked under IPC sections 354A (sexual harassment of the nature of unwelcome physical contact and advances or a demand or request for sexual favours showing pornography), 509 (word, gesture or act intended to outrage the modesty of a woman) and 504 (insult intended to provoke breach of peace) and provisions of the Information Technology Act.
Rakhi had filed an anticipatory bail application before a sessions court in Bombay on January 18 but the same was rejected. She was, therefore, detained on 19th.
It may be recalled that Rakhi and Sherlyn had filed FIRs against one another in November last year for use of objectionable language.
