Bhandarkar Entertainment, Devi Sateri Production, Phoenix Production and Swaroop Studios’ Circuitt (Marathi; UA) is about a person’s hot temper and anger issues.
Siddharth (Vaibhav Tatwawadi) has anger issues right from childhood. Anything at all can trigger his temper. Because of this, he does not express his love to Aarohi (Hruta Durgule). However, the two move forward in their love affair and even get married when Aarohi assures Siddharth that she would adjust in spite of his hot temper. However, tension erupts between Siddharth and Aarohi when the former can’t control his temper at her singing performance. Aarohi decides to leave Siddharth and go to her paternal home.
On the way to dropping Aarohi to her parents’ home, Siddharth and Aarohi talk it out. But once again, his anger issues come to the fore. What happens then?
Sanjay Jamkhandi has adapted Rajesh Gopinadhan’s story of Kali (Malayalam). He has also written the screenplay. Jamkhandi has not dwelt properly on Siddharth’s anger issues. In fact, the incidents of Siddharth losing his temper after marriage give the audience the feeling that anybody in Siddharth’s place would react angrily in just the same way as him. In other words, there’s nothing so abnormal about Siddharth’s behaviour. Besides, even the reason for his childhood behaviour has not been explained, giving even more credence to the belief that he may be no different from other young men his age. Thus the entire drama looks like much ado about nothing. Sanjay Jamkhandi’s dialogues are alright.
Vaibhav Tatwawadi is okay as Siddharth. But his character has not been established properly. Hruta Durgule acts well in the role of Aarohi. Ramesh Pardeshi performs well as Sarkar. Milind Shinde is alright as Ranga. Others provide fair support.
Aakash Pendharkar’s direction is average. He has not been able to make a very convincing film which could touch the hearts. Abhijeet Kawthalkar’s music is so-so. Lyrics (Anand Pendharkar, Mangesh Kangne and Jitendra Joshi) are fair. Aditya Bedekar’s background music is alright. Shabbir Naik’s cinematography is ordinary. Satish Chipkar’s sets are functional. Dinesh Poojary’s editing is okay but could’ve been sharper.
On the whole, Circuitt is a dull fare.
