The Delhi police on June 21 registered a case after singer Honey Singh filed a complaint alleging threats from Canada-based gangster Goldy Brar. The singer alleged that on June 19, his manager (Rohit Chhabra) received a threat call from a person who introduced himself as Goldy Brar. The caller demanded extortion money of Rs. 50 lakh. The manager thereafter received several more extortion calls and voice messages from the same number, said Honey Singh.
A case under IPC sections 387 (putting person in fear of death or of grievous hurt, in order to commit extortion) and 506 (criminal intimidation) has been filed at the Special Cell police station in Delhi.
Goldy Brar (real name Satinderjeet Singh), a member of the Bishnoi gang, is accused in the murder of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala last year.
