Released last week in East Punjab (at Panchkula and Karnal), Nandi Pictures Pvt. Ltd.’s The Rise Of Sudarshan is based on the life of Jain saint Sudarshan Lal Maharaj.
Anil Kulchainiya’s script would appeal only to a thin section of the audience. Performances of Vivek Anand Mishra, Yashpal Sharma and the others are alright.
Anil Kulchainiya’s direction is terrible. Satish Dehra’s music and Sudhakar Sharma’s lyrics are alright. Madhav Kishan’s choreography belongs to an era gone by. Dharmendra Jawda’s background music is so-so. S. Kumar Bhagat’s camerawork is nice. Gul’s editing is quite sharp.
On the whole, The Rise Of Sudarshan stands bleak chances at the box-office due to lack of merits as well as poor marketing.
