Kannada film actor Nagabhushana N.S. allegedly rammed his car into a 48-year-old woman and her husband in Bangalore on the night of September 30, killing her and severely injuring the man. He was arrested but later released on bail. The police said, the actor was not drunk but added that the accident happened because of his negligence.
According to the actor, the couple, Prerna S. and Krishna B., suddenly entered the road from the footpath and he was taken aback. He added that he, along with some passersby, rushed the couple to a nearby hospital but Prerna could not be saved.
Nagabhushana was charged under various sections of the IPC, including for rash driving and causing death by negligence.
