Sanjay Saha, producer of Nawazuddin Siddiqui starrer Haddi, was arrested on October 1 for allegedly duping Vivek Oberoi and his company of Rs. 1.55 crore between 2022 and 2023. The MIDC police arrested Saha on charges of cheating, forgery, breach of trust and misappropriation of funds. He was produced before the local court which remanded him to seven days’ police custody. The police is now looking for his wife, Radhika Nanda, and mother, Nandita Saha.
Vivek has alleged that the accused made him invest money in an event and film production firm promising lucrative profits. However, the accused later used the money for wrongful gains. The complaint mentioned that the actor and his wife, Priyanka, formed an LLP company — Oberoi Mega Entertainment — in 2017. It sold organic products. Soon, Oberoi was introduced to Sanjay Saha who claimed that he was a part of the film industry and who convinced Vivek Oberoi to invest in event management.
Vivek and Sanjay together formed Anandita Entertainment in which the latter’s wife and mother became partners. According to the police, the firm took the responsibility of marketing Haddi in 2021. As Vivek Oberoi was busy with his own work, the day-to-day affairs of the partnership firm were looked after by Sanjay Saha and his wife.
In 2022, an employee of the firm informed Vivek that Saha was misappropriating funds. That’s when the actor learnt that huge sums of money were allegedly transferred by Sanjay Saha for his personal expenses such as Rs. 5 lakh for buying Tata AIG life insurance, Rs. 10 lakh for Radhika’s salary and for buying ornaments. In all, Anandita Entertainment siphoned off Rs. 58 lakh. The police said, the accused had also cheated Nawazuddin Siddiqui.
According to the police, “Saha and Radhika cheated Oberoi of Rs. 1.55 crore. We are now looking for two more accused. Saha has already been arrested by the Oshiwara (Bombay) and cyber police in two separate cheating cases.”
