Sheetal Modi, daughter of veteran Assam distributor Shankar Lall Goenka and sister of distributor Siddharth Goenka, passed away on 9th December in Jaipur. She was 51. Shankar Lall Goenka and his family as well as the families of his daughters had all gone to Ranthambore for a marriage in the family. Soon after the wedding, Sheetal complained of uneasiness. Deciding to consult a doctor in Jaipur, her family reached the pink city. But she breathed her last in her sleep in Jaipur before medical help could be sought. She is survived by her husband, a son and a daughter. She was a resident of Ranchi.
A condolence meeting will be held on 17th from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Goenkas’ residence in Shillong.
