Six cinemas of Meerut will be auctioned by the local municipal corporation for recovery of unpaid house tax by them. The cinemas are Apsara (total house tax due: Rs. 1,75,901), Anurag (Rs. 5,25,401), Jagat (Rs. 2,28,601), Satyam (Rs. 8,36,801), Gulmarg (Rs. 80,941) and Odeon (Rs. 3,51,541). Besides the aforenamed cinema halls, three malls are also in the list of properties to be auctioned for recovery of house tax. The malls are Magnum, Era and Melange. Most of the cinemas in the list are closed.
