A case has been registered against Marathi film actress Ketaki Chitale for allegedly hurting sentiments with her claims about the misuse of the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act. At a conference at Pali in Beed, on February 25, Ketaki called for a scrutiny of cases filed under the law in the last five years to check how many of them were genuine.
Chitale had been arrested in 2022 for allegedly sharing a derogatory post about NCP-SP chief Sharad Pawar and had later been released on bail.
