DILIP KUMAR’S ANCESTRAL HOME IN PAKISTAN DAMAGED BY RAINS | 12 March, 2024

Late thespian Dilip Kumar’s ancestral home in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province is on the verge of collapse after being severely damaged in rains recently. The property is declared as national heritage. The rains have literally poured water on the property and figuratively poured water over the tall claims made by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Archive Department about rehabilitating and renovating the house.

Dilip Kumar was born in 1922 in this house located in Mohallah Khudadad near the historic Qissa Khan Bazar in Peshawar city. He was more than 10 when he left Pakistan and came to India. The house, which was built in 1880, was declared a national heritage monument on July 13, 2014 by then Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
