LATEST POSITION | 5 April, 2025 EID RELEASE ‘SIKANDAR’ DISAPPOINTS BIG TIME!

The much hyped Eid release, Salman Khan’s Sikandar, turned out to be yet another flop from the once popular superstar whose name spelt stupendous success. The film is expected to entail a loss of around Rs. 100 crore to the producers. In spite of releasing on a holiday — Sunday (March 30), a day prior to Eid — the film netted only Rs. 21 crore. Collections increased by only Rs. 3 crore on the second day on which fell Eid. With the total on Monday being only Rs. 24 crore, it was crystal clear that the film had been rejected. Collections on Tuesday (day of Baasi Eid, which, in normal circumstances, would be considered bountiful for the box-office) crashed to Rs. 15 crore. The total for Wednesday was a miserable Rs. 7 crore while for Thursday, it was an even worse Rs. 4 crore. In this way, the total for the first 5-day week was only Rs. 71 crore. The film, which is said to have been made at a budget of Rs. 300 crore, is expected to net a maximum of another Rs. 30-35 crore during the forthcoming weeks. It should’ve netted Rs. 350 crore in its lifetime but may breathe its last at Rs. 105 crore only!

L2: Empuraan (dubbed) failed to make a mark at the box-office. After netting barely Rs. 0.50 crore on the first day (Thursday, March 27), the film collected only Rs. 1.50 crore in the first week. Grand total for 8-day week: Rs. 2 crore.

Snow White (dubbed and the original English versions) fell around 75% in the second week, that too, after a poor first week. It netted only Rs. 0.90 crore in 2nd week. Grand total for 2 weeks: Rs. 4.40 crore.

The Diplomat fell 50% more in the third week. It added approximately Rs. 3.50 crore to its kitty in the third weekend, and another Rs. 1.80 crore during the weekdays, taking its 3rd week’s total to Rs. 5.30 crore. Grand total for 3 weeks: Rs. 35.43 crore.

Chhaava netted around Rs. 6.25 crore in 7th week. Grand total for 7 weeks: Rs. 378.65 crore. If one were to consider the block bookings and free distribution of tickets, the total for 7 weeks (after considering the block bookings) was Rs. 513.65 crore.
