The opening of MISSION MANGAL on Thursday (15th August) owing to the holiday for Independence Day as well as Raksha Bandhan was phenomenal. It netted Rs. 29 crore which is the highest an Akshay Kumar starrer has ever collected on the first day. The first day of BATLA HOUSE, also released on Thursday, was good, too, at Rs. 14.50 crore. …..The running films got some advantage of the Bakr Eid holiday on 12th August (Monday).
Jabariya Jodi could not do well in the first week. After a dull start of Rs. 2.75 crore, collections increased to Rs. 3.75 crore on Saturday, and further to Rs. 4.50 crore on Sunday. The first weekend, therefore, closed at Rs. 11 crore. Collections during the weekdays were: Monday – Rs. 2.50 crore, Tuesday – Rs. 1.40 crore, Wednesday – Rs. 1.05 crore, Thursday – Rs. 0.35 crore. By adding Rs. 5.30 crore to its kitty in the weekdays, the film took its first week’s total to Rs. 16.30 crore.
Pranaam met with a disastrous fate in 1st week.
Chicken Curry Law! also fared miserably in the first week – that is, wherever it could even complete a week.

Fast & Furious: Hobbs And Shaw (dubbed) and the English original of the same name added Rs. 14.65 crore to its kitty in the second week. The second weekend started with a collection of Rs. 2 crore on Friday. The totals for Saturday and Sunday were Rs. 3.35 crore and Rs. 4 crore respectively so that the second weekend closed at Rs. 9.35 crore. Collections during the weekdays were: Monday – Rs. 2.25 crore, Tuesday – Rs. 1.40 crore, Wednesday – Rs. 1.25 crore, Thursday – Rs. 0.40 crore. In this way, it netted Rs. 5.30 crore in the weekdays. Its total for the second week was, therefore, Rs. 14.65 crore, and its grand total for 2 weeks was Rs. 68.40 crore.
The Lion King (animation; dubbed) and the original English version of the same name crossed the Rs. 150-crore mark in the fourth week. It started its fourth weekend at Rs. 1 crore. Collections increased to Rs. 2.50 crore on Saturday, and further to Rs. 3.50 crore on Sunday. The total for the third weekend was, therefore, Rs. 7 crore. Collections during the weekdays were pretty steady: Monday – Rs. 2 crore, Tuesday – Rs. 0.75 crore, Wednesday – Rs. 0.75 crore, Thursday – Rs. 0.70 crore. By adding Rs. 4.20 crore in the weekdays, it took its total for 4th week to Rs. 11.20 crore. Grand total for 4 weeks: Rs. 153.92 crore.
Super 30 netted Rs. 0.60 crore on the first day of its fifth weekend. Collections on Saturday and Sunday were Rs. 1.30 crore and Rs. 2.05 crore respectively. After a fifth weekend total of Rs. 3.95 crore, the film collected as follows in the weekdays: Monday – Rs. 1.10 crore, Tuesday – Rs. 0.50 crore, Wednesday – Rs. 0.55 crore, Thursday – Rs. 0.15 crore. In this way, it netted Rs. 2.30 crore in the weekdays. Total for 5th week: Rs. 6.25 crore. Grand total for 5 weeks: Rs. 145.67 crore.
