Love Aaj Kal 2020 flopped in the first week itself. It started well because of its release on Valentine’s Day. The first day’s net collection of Rs. 12 crore gave way to a Saturday total of only Rs. 7 crore. The second day’s total was conclusive proof that the film had been rejected by the public. As if that weren’t bad enough, collections on Sunday were as dull as Saturday. After netting Rs. 7 crore on Sunday, the Kartik Aaryan and Sara Ali Khan starrer took its first weekend’s total to Rs. 26 crore. Collections on the weekdays were rather pathetic: Monday – Rs. 2 crore, Tuesday – Rs. 1.75 crore, Wednesday – Rs. 1.50 crore, Thursday – Rs. 1.35 crore. In this way, the film netted Rs. 6.60 crore in the weekdays and took its total for the first week to Rs. 32.60 crore. The film, which had to net Rs. 100 crore to break even, will lose breath at less than Rs. 40 crore!

Malang did fair in 2nd week but is still a far cry from its break-even point of Rs. 70-crore-plus. It started its second weekend by collecting Rs. 2.25 crore on Friday. Collections on Saturday (Rs. 2.50 crore) and Sunday (Rs. 3.15 crore) took the second weekend’s total to Rs. 7.90 crore. Collections during the weekdays were as follows: Monday – Rs. 1.35 crore, Tuesday – Rs. 1.35 crore, Wednesday – Rs. 1.25 crore, Thursday – Rs. 1.25 crore. By netting Rs. 5.20 crore in the weekdays, the film took its total for 2nd week to Rs. 13.10 crore. Grand total for 2 weeks: Rs. 50.20 crore.

Jawaani Jaaneman netted Rs. 0.90 crore in its third weekend, and another Rs. 0.60 crore in the weekdays. By adding Rs. 1.50 crore to its kitty in 3rd week, the film took its 3-week total to Rs. 25.25 crore.

Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior started its sixth weekend by collecting Rs. 0.65 crore on Friday. Collections increased to Rs. 1 crore on Saturday, and further to Rs. 1.50 crore on Sunday. It, therefore, netted Rs. 3.15 crore in the sixth weekend. Collections during the weekdays were decent: Monday – Rs. 0.45 crore, Tuesday – Rs. 0.45 crore, Wednesday – Rs. 0.65 crore, Thursday – Rs. 0.55 crore. So, it added Rs. 2.10 crore to its kitty in the weekdays, taking its total for 6th week to Rs. 5.25 crore. Grand total for 6 weeks: Rs. 258.45 crore.
