Satyajit Ray’s Pather Panchali and Charulata, besides some other contemporary films, became the bone of contention yesterday (March 2) at the Ravenshaw University in Cuttack, where the Ravenshaw Film Festival 2023 was scheduled to begin. The objections to Ray’s films were raised by the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad. The festival finally commenced today (March 3), after a day-long protest.
