The Amboli (Bombay) police have registered a case of breach of trust and cheating against a Kannada film actor, accused of taking Rs. 3.15 crore from producer-director Raghavendra Hegde as advance payment for acting in his film and then not allotting dates. The case was filed on August 7 after Hegde lodged a complaint. The money was paid to him between 2018 and 2021.
According to the complaint, the actor signed a contract with Hegde in 2018 after meeting him several times and suggesting that they work together. Raghavendra Hegde said, the actor demanded money as advance payment as he wanted to buy a house. Hegde transferred the money to the actor between 2018 and 2021. According to the police, “The actor did not appear for any acting roles and continued to make excuses, prompting the producer-director to file the case.”
