Actor and model Darasing Khurana, who was recently appointed the Commonwealth Global Youth Champion, was invited last month to London to meet Queen Camilla and Prince William. He discussed his focus on mental health and plans for the youth of 56 Commonwealth countries, with the Queen. Says Khurana, “I explained to the Queen about how we want to work towards a better balance with technology in the life of young people by implementing a Commonwealth-wide programme. We have come up with a road map which can be merged with the education system in all the Commonwealth countries so that students are taught right from the beginning in their schools on how to maintain a balance with technology in their lives.” Through his work with Dr. Rekha Chaudhri, founder of World Digital Detox Day, Darasing’s focus is on encouraging a lifestyle change that would help the youngsters harmonise with technology and social media.
