Rang De Basanti actress Alice Patten’s brother-in-law, Elton Charles, was among the four persons convicted on August 15 in London for their involvement in a shootout at a restaurant owned by a British-Punjabi businessman. Elton is the Afro-Caribbean husband of Laura Patten, sister of Alice, and the daughter of UK’s former Hong Kong governor, Lord Chris Patten.
On September 6 last year, a hooded gunman jumped out of a van and opened fire at the restaurant. Charles claimed, he had nothing to do with the shooting, but the jury held that he was the getaway driver.
