ACTRESS, PRODUCER SETTLE DEFAMATION CASE AMICABLY | 27 April, 2021

Actress Sakshi Malik and V. Venkata Ramana Reddy, producer of Telugu film V, have settled the defamation case amicably out of court. In the film, a picture of Sakshi was used to convey a female escort or a commercial sex worker, without her permission. This did not go down well with the actress who then dragged the producer to court by filing a defamation case against him.

Justice Gautam Patel of the Bombay high court, therefore, yesterday (26th April) disposed of the suit filed by Sakshi. The film, produced under the banner of Venkateshwara Creations Pvt. Ltd., started to stream on Amazon Prime Video on September 4, 2020. The Bombay high court had asked Amazon Prime Video to take the film down and had allowed the same to be uploaded again only after the scene objected to was deleted from the film.
