Boney Kapoor may well be on the threshold of a new career! After winning a lot of praise for his debut performance in Netflix’s AK Vs AK, the producer has been signed to play Ranbir Kapoor’s father in the feature film being directed by Luv Ranjan. Shooting of the untitled film is all set to start in Delhi. Shraddha Kapoor plays the female lead. Ranbir and Shraddha are already in the capital city for the film’s first shooting schedule. Boney, who is currently in Hyderabad, will join the unit in a couple of days.
Grapevine has it that Boney, who is very busy as a producer with a film each in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu on the floors, and several more in the pipeline, politely turned down the offer first. It was Ranjan’s insistence and perseverance to get Boney Kapoor to agree to act that made the producer relent and ultimately give his nod. Reportedly, Luv approached Arjun Kapoor to convince his dad to say “yes” to the film.
