Ajay Devgan and some other Bollywood celebrities have joined hands with the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation and Hinduja Hospital in Bombay to provide emergency medical facilities for the people of Bombay affected by COVID-19. The actor, through his social service wing, NY Foundation, and others have helped the BMC set up the emergency medical unit at Shivaji Park, with 20 beds, ventilators, oxygen support and para monitors.
Besides Devgan, the others who have contributed funds for this facility are Anand Pandit, Boney Kapoor, Luv Ranjan, Rajneesh Khanuja, Leena Yadav and Aseem Bajaj, OTT giants Sameer Nair, Deepak Dhar and Rishi Negi, as also entrepreneur Tarun Rathi and action director R.P. Yadav. The aforementioned people have jointly contributed over Rs. 1 crore to the BMC’s Smiley Account. The emergency unit will be an extension of Hinduja Hospital which would provide food, linen, medicine and manpower to the unit.
