The government on 13th December brought all Bombay-based film-related departments of the Information & Broadcasting ministry under a single umbrella and appointed Central Board of Film Certification CEO Ravinder Bhakar as the overall in-charge. Bhakar will now oversee operations of the National Film Development Corporation, Films Division, and the Children’s Film Society (India).
The move is aimed at smoother coordination among the various film-related departments. A decision to this effect was taken by the ministry last week. The Films Division and the CFSI are planned to be merged with the NFDC.
