The crime branch investigating the case of Marathi television actress Ketaki Chitale, arrested for sharing a derogatory post on social media against politician Sharad Pawar, suspects that there is either a politician or an organisation behind her. A mention of this was made in the remand report filed by the crime branch in court.
Meanwhile, the Powai (Bombay) police also filed an FIR against Chitale. This has taken the number of FIRs filed against the actress to six, including those at Bhoiwada and Goregaon in Bombay.
Ketaki Chitale was arrested by the Thane crime branch on May 14. She was first taken to her residence so that the police could take custody of her laptop computer from which the post could’ve been uploaded on social media.
Since the post uses the word raada, which is slang for fight in Marathi, the post could have been made to incite violence, the remand report said. The police said that Ketaki had flatly refused to delete the post and showed no remorse. In the past too, she had posted allegedly objectionable content resulting in a case of atrocity being registered against her.
