Senior bureaucrat Apurva Chandra took charge as information & broadcasting secretary yesterday (23rd August). A 1988-batch IAS officer of the Maharashtra cadre, he has also served as secretary in the Union labour and employment ministry. He was appointed Union I & B secretary last week.
