ARUN GOVIL MEETS FWICE OFFICE-BEARERS TO UNDERSTAND WORKERS’ PROBLEMS, TAKE THEM UP IN PARLIAMENT | 4 September, 2024

Actor and MP Arun Govil recently met with the office-bearers of the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) to understand the problems faced by cine workers so that he can take up the matter in Parliament. The office-bearers gave him their charter of demands.

Among other things, the FWICE is demanding an 8-hour working shift for cine workers, compulsory holiday on Sundays, and better working conditions and facilities for women cine workers. It has also sought a tripartite meeting of the producers, FWICE and the government.

It is for the first time that an elected MP has taken the effort of reaching out to cine workers to do something constructive for improving their condition.
