Celia Lobo, mother of choreographer Ashley Lobo, passed away peacefully on 18th June in Bombay after a prolonged illness. She was the only opera diva of India. She is survived by two daughters and a son (Ashley).
Celia used to conduct vocal training sessions, besides writing and directing operas. Among her students were Sunidhi Chauhan, Shiamak Davar, Shweta Shetty, Sunita Rao, Shailesh Shandilya and Neeti Mohan.
