The Hinduja family is involved in a legal battle over their £16-billion fortune spread across the world. They are fighting multiple court cases in London, Switzerland and Jersey. Ashok Hinduja was once a film financier. His daughter, Ambika, dabbled into film production but quit after burning her fingers.
At the core of the family dispute is a letter dated 2nd July, 2014, signed by the four brothers. The letter provides that the brothers appoint each other as their executors, and that assets held in any single brother’s name belong to all four. It is reported that Srichand Hinduja, the eldest brother, in November 2019 approached the Business and Property Court in London, seeking a declaration that the letter was revocable and had been revoked.
