AWHAD GETS BAIL IN ‘HAR HAR MAHADEV’ CASE | 13 November, 2022

NCP leader Jitendra Awhad and 11 others, who were arrested for disrupting a show of Marathi film Har Har Mahadev at Cinepolis Thane in Viviana Mall and who allegedly assaulted a businessman who was watching the film in that show on November 7, were released on bail on November 12. Meanwhile, DCP Vinay Rathod of zone 5 of Thane city police, who supervised Awhad’s arrest, has been transferred as DCP (traffic). He will be replaced by Amar Singh Jadhav.

Awhad and his men had stalled the screening of the film alleging that it distorted facts and depicted historical characters in poor light.

The court had remanded Awhad and his men to judicial custody for 14 days subsequent to which they filed the bail application.
