‘BELL BOTTOM’ SCREENED AT HIGHEST CINEMA IN WORLD | 29 August, 2021

Vashu Bhagnani’s Bell Bottom has marked the beginning of cinemas in the hilly region of Ladakh. It is the first film ever to have been screened at a mobile digital movie theatre at an altitude of 11,562 feet, which makes it the highest cinema in the world!

To bring the cinema-watching experience to the remotest areas, a mobile cinema was introduced in the Paldan area of Leh in Ladakh by Picture Time Digiplex. The digital theatre can operate at minus 28 degrees Celsius. The Akshay Kumar starrer was screened there recently not only for the audience but also for the army.

Incidentally, today’s (29th August) collections for the film have been almost as much as the collections of Sunday last week. In other words, the film’s collections on the first Sunday and the second week’s Sunday have been nearly the same. That’s quite a feat! In some cinemas, the second Sunday was better than the first Sunday. Take, for example, the collections at Cinepolis WTP, Jaipur. While it collected Rs. 62,898 on the first Sunday, it netted Rs. 83,872 today (second Sunday). Similarly, the second weekend at Raj Mandir Cinema, Jaipur (Rs. 3,74,719) is better than the first weekend (Friday-Sunday; Rs. 3,43,490).
