Bhojpuri film actress Akanksha Dubey reportedly committed suicide in a Varanasi hotel today (26th March). She was 25 years old. Hours before her death, Akanksha had shared on social media a video in which she is seen dancing to the tunes of a Bhojpuri song. Coincidentally, a music video of Akanksha and actor-singer Pawan Singh was released around the time she took her life.
Among the Bhojpuri films Akanksha had acted in were Meri Jung Mera Faisla, Mujhse Shadi Karogi, Veeron Ke Veer and Fighter King. It is said that she was in a relationship with actor Samar Singh. Akanksha was a patient of depression in 2018 when she had taken a break from films because of the illness.
