Dhananjay Mishra, noted music director of Bhojpuri films, passed away today (4th June) around 7 o’clock in the morning in Bombay. He was suffering from diabetes. He felt unwell in his music sitting room at Oshiwara in Bombay. He used to live at Mira Road in Bombay.
The ever-smiling Dhananjay Mishra, who was born in Ghazipur (Uttar Pradesh), had scored the music of many films. He had composed around 1,500 songs for Manoj Tiwari alone, out of the 4,500 songs lip-synched by the star. The super-hit song, Rinkiya ke papa, was composed by Mishra. This song was taken from the album, ‘Chat Deni Maar Deni’.
The news of Mishra’s untimely demise sent shock waves in the Bhojpuri film industry. Manoj Tiwari said that the sudden passing away of music director Dhananjay Mishra, who was like a younger brother to him, had saddened him a great deal. Bhojpuri film stars Ravi Kishan and Khesarilal Yadav, and Bhojpuri film producers Abhay Sinha, Sunil Boobna, Durga Prasad Majumdar, Jagdish Sharma, Rajkumar Pandey, Mahesh Pandey, Sanjay Pandey, Chandni Singh, Karan Pandey, Sachin Shrivastava, Shashikant Singh and many others expressed shock on hearing the news of Mishra’s demise. Khesarilal Yadav, Yash Mishra, Rajnish, Ananjay Raghuraj, Karan Pandey, Awadhesh Mishra, Dev Singh and Jay Neelam attended his funeral held later during the day.
