BHUSHAN KUMAR WITHDRAWS PETITION AGAINST RAPE F.I.R. | 2 December, 2023

T-Series chairman and managing director Bhushan Kumar withdrew his petition against an FIR lodged against him in an alleged rape case. This happened after a magistrate court in Bombay accepted a closure report filed by the police. In July 2021, an FIR was filed by a woman, accusing him of allegedly repeatedly sexually assaulting her between September 2017 and August 2020 on the pretext of giving her a job in his music company and film production company.

A division bench of Justices Prakash D. Naik and Nitin R. Borkar accepted the submissions that his writ plea had become infructuous due to the development before the magistrate court and allowed him to withdraw his plea. On November 30, Bhushan Kumar’s advocate told the high court that the Andheri (Bombay) metropolitan magistrate court had accepted the closure report on November 9.
