BONEY KAPOOR SIGNS CONCESSION AGREEMENT FOR NOIDA FILM CITY | 28 June, 2024

Producer Boney Kapoor (third from left in photograph) and his consortium on June 27 signed a concession pact with Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) for development of a film city at NOIDA. Construction work will begin within four months. Although the entire film city may take three years to complete, Boney is hopeful that shooting at the new film city can commence in 2025.

Kapoor has partnered with the Bhutani group (real estate) for the film city. The consortium had bagged the rights to develop the film city in January this year. Bhushan Kumar, a consortium backed by Akshay Kumar, and another consortium backed by K.C. Bokadia were also vying for the development rights.

The film city will come up on 1,000 acres of land but the first phase will cover 230 acres.
