Carnival has settled its issue with Reliance Entertainment in the matter of payment of dues of Sooryavanshi. Consequently, the film is back in the properties of the Carnival multiplex chain.
Reliance had pulled out the film from Carnival properties on Saturday, November 20 due to the national multiplex chain defaulting in the payment of shares to the producer-distributor (Reliance). But all that is now a thing of the past as the film is being screened once again from November 21 following resolution of the problem. That means, the film was discontinued for only a day as Carnival was swift to settle the matter.
Prashant Kulkarni, sales and marketing head, Carnival Cinemas, told Information, “Carnival is very keen to pay its creditors fully and completely. Trust me, we also have a lot to recover from some advertising agencies, vendors etc., to which Carnival had extended credit, and that is why we are in an awkward position as far as our debtors are concerned. But the intention of the founder and chairman of the Carnival group, Dr. Shrikant Bhasi, is very clear — we are here to do business, not to run away with anybody’s money.”
