The Bombay police on 26th May registered a case against television actress Munmun Dutta for allegedly using a derogatory term against a community. The Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah actress made the casteist remark in a video about make-up, which she posted on social media on 9th May. The video had gone viral on social media platforms.
The case was registered based on a complaint lodged by one Naresh Bohit, a community leader and and a worker of a political party on 12th May at the Goregaon police station in Bombay. The FIR was registered in spite of Munmun’s apology issued on 10th May.
