A regional facilitation office of the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) will be set up in Chandigarh, Union I & B minister Anurag Singh Thakur announced on 25th February in Chandigarh at the closing ceremony of the Chitra Bharati Film Festival. The move is expected to benefit film producers of the region.
Producers of the North Indian region can avail of the facility of screening their films and submitting their cuts/modifications at the facilitation office in Chandigarh, without having to go to either Delhi or Bombay to get the CBFC certificate for their films. The news brought cheer in the Punjabi film industry.
