‘CHEHRE’ TO COME TO CINEMAS ON 27TH AUGUST | 12 August, 2021

Producer Anand Pandit’s Chehre will finally release in the theatres on August 27. It had always been Pandit’s dream to work with Amitabh Bachchan, and Chehre, his 51st film, was a realisation of that dream. This, in fact, is one of the reasons why producer Anand Pandit, who is also a distributor and a builder, wanted to release this film on the big screen only. He says, “There was no doubt in my mind that this was a film meant only for the cinemas. Chehre is not just thematically strong but it also has a certain grandeur that deserved the immersive magic of the big screen. I have grown up watching blockbusters in theatres, and to watch Mr. Bachchan on the big screen in one of my production ventures would be beyond thrilling. The film will now release all over the world on 27th August, and I couldn’t be happier.”

Another big reason why Pandit insisted on a theatrical release for his film was because he wanted to express solidarity with exhibitors who have gone through untold hardships during the pandemic lockdown. He says, “What can be better than to go back to the theatres with an Amitabh Bachchan film? The industry is a family that has suffered a lot in this pandemic but I believe, we can survive anything if we stand by each other. So bringing Chehre to theatres is my way of standing in solidarity with over 10 lakh people who are associated with the industry in some way or the other. The film’s teasers and trailer have already received so much love from the audience and I hope, they come back to watch the film with the same enthusiasm. Their love will mean a lot not just to me but also to the exhibitors and the large extended family of workers who need sustenance and support.”

Chehre is directed by Rumy Jafry and it also stars Emraan Hashmi (who plays a business tycoon with a complicated past), Annu Kapoor, Krystle D’Souza, Drithiman Chakraborthy, Raghubir Yadav and Siddhanth Kapoor. The film is produced under the banners of Anand Pandit Motion Pictures and Saraswati Entertainment Private Limited.
