Cinedubs, a mobile application which can be downloaded from Google Play or Apple Store, allows users to hear the dialogues in a film in a cinema in their preferred language. Irrespective of the language in which the film is being played in the cinema, it can be enjoyed in any language — provided, of course, that the producer has dubbed the film in that language — by a person, using his smartphone.
The facility would be available only inside the auditorium and will cease to play once outside the auditorium, so that there is no threat of piracy.
The first film which Cinedubs catered to was Rocketry: The Nambi Effect. The next film is Vikrant Rona which, like Rocketry, can be watched in all the four languages it has been dubbed into — Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam and Telugu — besides the original language, Kannada. Madhavan, the producer, director and lead man of Rocketry, is the brand ambassador of Cinedubs which has been developed by Aditya Kashyap.
