Nath Productions’ Club 52 (Marathi; UA) is the story of two friends and of gambling.
Bajrang Badshah has written a predictable story without much to shout about. Rakesh Shirke’s screenplay does not hold the viewers’ attention as it offers no novelty whatsoever. Consequently, even though the drama is reasonably fast-paced, it does not entertain much. Rakesh Shirke’s dialogues are routine.
Hardeek Joshi is okay. Bharat Thakur is average. Radha Sagar is so-so. Yashashree Venkatesh’s performance is fair. Tina Soni does an ordinary job. Bhau Kadam is alright. Shashank M. Shende provides nice support. Nitin Rupanwar and Umesh Bolke lend the necessary support.
Amit Valmik Koli’s direction is too ordinary to really talk about. Karan and Darshan’s music is functional. Lyrics (Ajay Waghmare, Bajrang Badshah and Sujata Pawar) hardly deserve mention. Song picturisations (by Narendra Pandit, Dhananjay, Sagar and Sandesh Patil) are below the mark. Aditya Bedekar’s background music should’ve been more innovative. Kaushal Goswami’s camerawork is average. Prashant Naik’s action and stunt scenes afford some thrill. Vicky Bidkar’s art direction is okay. Anant Maruti Kamath’s editing needed to be sharper.
On the whole, Club 52 is a poor show.
Released on 15-12-’23 at Jai Hind Mukta A2 (daily 1 show) and other cinemas of Bombay thru August Entertainment. Publicity & opening: poor.
