COURT DISMISSES KANGANA’S INTERIM PLEA AGAINST BMC NOTICE | 26 December, 2020

In a relief to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation, a city civil court at Dindoshi in Bombay on 22nd December dismissed an application for interim protection, filed last year by Kangana Ranaut against a civic notice over alleged grave violations of sanctioned plans by merging three flats into one in DB Breeze building at Khar where she stays. The court gave the actress six weeks to challenge the dismissal order before the Bombay high court.

The building has been under the BMC radar since 2018 for alleged unauthorised constructions and violations of the building plan. In January 2019, the court had issued a status quo order on applications filed by Kangana and the society, RKW Construction Facility Management Pvt. Ltd. against the BMC’s notices. The civic body had sought action against Ranaut for allegedly “covering sunk areas, ducts, common passages as per her own convenience, thereby causing threat to other members of the society”.

The court on 22nd December, 2020 passed a similar dismissal order in a separate application filed by RKW Construction Facility Management.
