DAMAGE CONTROL EXERCISE: ‘ADIPURUSH’ DIALOGUES CHANGED | 19 June, 2023

Five dialogues in the controversial Adipurush are being changed. While the old dialogues were replaced in many cinemas today (19th June), the process is on in other cinemas.

Manoj Muntashir’s dialogues like ‘Dho daloonga’, ‘Tere baap ki jalegi’, ‘Lanka lagaa doodga’ and ‘Tere bua ka bageecha’ did not find favour with many among the audience, who seem to have gone hammer and tongs against the writer and the film. Besides the “objectionable” dialogues, the film has otherwise too come in for a lot of criticism for its content, clothes of the actors, visual effects, etc. This is affecting the box-office collections as well as the reputation of the film and of those associated with it. In an attempt to control the damage, the producers yesterday (18th June) took the decision to change the dialogues in keeping with the sentiments of the public.

A letter from the film’s all-India distributor, AA Films, asks the territorial sub-distributors to “kindly inform your theatres to ensure revised audio is ingested and movie is played with new audio on immediate basis”. AA Films has sent the movie audio replacement package file link, which can be downloaded. A new KDM is being provided to all the cinemas by their digital provider.
