‘DC LEAGUE OF SUPER-PETS’ (ANIMATION; DUBBED) REVIEW | 5 August, 2022

Warner Animation Group, DC Entertainment and Seven Bucks Productions’ DC League Of Super-Pets (animation; dubbed from the Hollywood film of the same name) is the story of two best friends who are now superheroes — Krypto the superdog, and Superman. The two fight crime in Metropolis. But when the Man of Steel and the rest of the Justice League are kidnapped, Krypto convinces a group of animals to use their new super-powers for the rescue mission.

Based on characters by DC Comics, the film has a script written by Jared Stern and John Whittington. The story and screenplay are confusing because there are too many characters and besides that, they are all animation characters. Further, the drama is of the kind seen in many live-action films earlier.

Voice acting is so-so. Animation is very good. Jared Stern’s direction is ordinary. Steve Jablonsky’s music is okay. Editing (by David Egan and Jhoanne Reyes) ought to have been tighter. Dubbing is alright.

On the whole, DC League Of Super-Pets is a dull fare and will not make any mark at the box-office. It will face rejection.

Released on 4-8-’22 at Jai Hind Mukta A2 (1 show; in daily 2 shows from 5-8-’22) and other cinemas and on 5-8-’22 at Gemini (daily 1 show) of Bombay by Warner Bros. Pictures (India) Pvt. Ltd. Publicity & opening: very poor. …….Also released all over. Opening was pathetic everywhere. The original English version opened simultaneously.
