DINESH VIJAN, RAJ-D.K. SETTLE MONETARY DISPUTE | 19 November, 2020

The long-standing dispute between producer Dinesh Vijan (on the extreme right in picture) and writer-director duo Raj (centre) and D.K. (left) has been resolved. The two have issued a joint press statement to inform that all’s now well between them. For those who came in late, Dinesh Vijan had produced Stree which was written and co-produced by Raj and D.K. Problems arose between them when the Rajkumar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor starrer became a box-office blockbuster. Raj and D.K. claimed that they hadn’t been given their share in the huge profits the film had earned. On his part, Vijan maintained that once Jio came in as his partner in production, Raj and D.K. ceased to be his partners because they never put in money in the film.

There was much bad blood between them. They even stopped talking to each other. Legal notices were exchanged, and the matter reached the courts. Although one is not aware of the settlement, the joint statement by the two parties to the dispute states that Maddock Films Pvt. Ltd. (Dinesh Vijan’s production banner) and D2R Films LLP (Raj Nidimoru and Krishna D.K.’s banner) have “amicably resolved our differences with regard to our film Stree which released in August 2018″. As per the settlement, all copyrights and intellectual property rights in and to the film Stree including the derivative rights thereof are henceforth owned solely by Maddock Films Pvt. Ltd.
