A sessions court in Bombay on March 4 granted interim relief from arrest to Union minister Narayan Rane and his MLA-son, Nitesh, both of who were booked for making allegedly defamatory and derogatory statements about the death of Disha Salian, manager of Sushant Singh Rajput for a brief period. The duo moved an anticipatory bail plea before the Dindoshi sessions court in Bombay.
The prosecution sought adjournment to submit its reply to the bail application. It also submitted that status quo would be maintained in respect of arresting the accused.
The pre-arrest bail application said that the Ranes were innocent and had been wrongly implicated. The Ranes also alleged that it was clear that the FIR against them had been registered with an ulterior motive to restrict their movement and curtail their liberty.
