It’s double celebration time for Zee. Just yesterday (August 10), the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) approved the merger of Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd. and Sony Pictures Networks India. The merger, announced in September 2021, had been shrouded in controversies. The Bombay bench of the NCLT had reserved the merger order a month back but it dismissed all the objections yesterday and gave its green signal to the merger.
A day later, that is, today (August 11), Zee Studios’ Gadar 2 opened to an earth-shattering response all over India. The housefull boards of a number of single-screen cinemas have had to be dusted today to be put up, so tremendous is the response to Zee’s Gadar Ek Prem Katha sequel. It must be mentioned here that the marketing team of Zee Studios had done a tremendous job of the film’s pre-release promotion. This included reviving Gadar Ek Prem Katha all over India in June this year.
